What a wonderful experience from The Raj. Excellent and polite service from three different staffers working in tandem.The food was well-prepared and served timeously. First class.They stay open until late and accomodate different kinds of diners – from singles and couples to family groups. And yet, it never feels crowded.The view out to the ocean gets them extra points. And there’s a full bar. They only need to improve on wheelchair access.

Soup was from a can, and had metal taste. The butter chicken sauce was serious grainy, and not sure how fresh the chicken was.The roti was okayish.There are many shortcuts being taken in this kitchen.

We ordered a butter chicken and a chicken korma. They both came at a premium price so I was expecting them to be outstanding. They weren’t bad but I just don’t think they’ve got their recipe’s quite right, the korma tasted more like a stew and the butter chicken was acceptable at best. Our search for a curry restaurant in Cape Town as good as some of the ones in Durban continues!
