Had a lovely mid-week lunch with Clients. The lunch menu was awesome, priced very reasonably with nice size portions. The hake and chips at R99 was fresh and tasty. The burger was delicious, definitely hand made patties. Would recommend this to just about anyone.Parking: Parking in the Nelson Mandela Square basement, so plenty of parking available.

Very delicious food….Liked the vibe and atmosphere.Very good, polite, professional and helpful staff. Make sure you book in advance as it can get very crowded.Not sure about the parkings.Steak was good. I asked for medium rare but it was rare most likely.Overall very good.

We ordered Chicken Kebabs, Pork Spare Ribs, and Sirloin. Large portions and really tasty. But the service was normal. We wanted to order draft beer, and the waitress told us they don’t have any draft beer impatiently, we ended up ordering something else. A few minutes later, we saw people at another table who came later than us having draft beers.

Best place to go to if you want a very decent piece of meat. Had the starter beef tartare(a first for me, but worth it). The mains were the ribeye, debunked chicken and a burger for the kido. All food was served hot, perfectly cooked and chicken was nice and moist. Service not great but not terrible. Overall a satisfactory experience.

Always an awesome treat for a special occasion. Service is amongst the best I’ve ever had from friendly and knowledgeable staff. Wine selection is awesome and the steaks are to die for. And on your way out you can buy some cuts from the butcher to make at home.

Visited again on 25/06/22. Served by Seven that is there for 22 years now. He knows his menu and food very well.Seems that management planning needs some attention as more than 5 items we requested was out of stock, right from wine to oysters, lamb shank….Quality is still good though but next time around will try the grill place across the square.Food was amazing but for sure service needs to improve.Spoke to Freddy that I was waiting about 20mins for a waiter after asking twice.He did apologise and sent me another waiter.

Almost 20 years after my last visit at Joburg I was surprised to see The Butcher Shop and Grill standing and even more famous than it was before. I had an ideal view about it as it was one of my first “great meat’ experiences. Time seemed not to have past by, yet this time it was not that gorgeous. May be it was my 20 year experience on the subject but none of the meats met my expectations, neither the meat quality nor the cooking point requested.
