We visited for the Afternoon Tea offering having made a reservation 2 hours before. The restaurant was fairly empty at the time and likely due to the pandemic. Staff were unbelievably friendly and helpful.The tea and coffee offering were large and well selected. Tea was supplied by TWG and of a really good quality and exceptional flavour. The selection of savories and cakes, individually plated, were fantastic and relatively filling by the time we got to dessert. We have a great experience and would gladly return. We asked to purchase of the teabags and while not usually sold separately to guests they allowed us to purchase at the time.

Yesterday we went for a very late dessert at the Table Bay Hotel after a dinner in the area. Even as a non guest you may make use of the lobby area where there is a lounge area next to a fireplace as well as a bar. We were about 8 people and made a small arrangement of tables into an improtu “late” tea.The waiter and waitress were friendly and although we were late, the kitchen was still assisting us and they were professional in their service. Although this establishment might display the atmosphere of an upmarket hotel, the general service was very warm and inviting.

They advise them self as having the best breakfast in Cape Town, but they don’t tell you that only hotel guests are welcome???
