Great location and food, with friendly staff. Visiting from Hawaii, and not seeing my family in 5 years, I needed good company and good food, with a stunning view. I craved fish and vegetables. The manager William welcomed us with a hearty and warm smile, outside the door. Our server was amazing and very friendly. Can’t remember his name but I took a pic with him. Our table had fish, chips, and calamari. I will recommend this restaurant, and it’s a bonus to have it on the beach. I will be back.

Was lovely to be there…. With a beautiful view of the ocean and being situated upstairs has it’s perks. The food was great…. The atmosphere enjoyable…. The staff are really friendly and helpful yet also professional 👌The only suggestion I have is that a lift be installed, especially for moms and dads with prams and for those whom the stairs might be a problem to. 😉

Not the best Ocean Basket. Main waiter, Juliet, was amazing – great personality. For some reason we had about 3 to four different waiters coming to us. Wait time was 30-40mins due to them dealing with a gas issue in the morning (we were told before ordering so that’s nice). One of the other waiters even brought us those condiments with one dish empty (the mayo) – was filled after asking. When the food finally came it was average. My calamari was so salty. Gran enjoyed her prawns. Mom enjoyed her dish too – did not know they serve stir fry veg (you can go buy and make this yourself for way less money). They really need to work on the floor layout. It does not work. The windows looked rather dirty and no windows get opened – even with Covid. Also, think they need to consider putting a small lift for people with disabilities or the elderly etc. to get up to the restaurant as there are only stairs going up.Update: Husband & I gave them another chance. This time we both had the bite of the ocean dish. Everything was cooked perfectly – so they improved on this. Only issue was the yellow sauce that comes over the calamari and fish was salty. The lovely Juliet was our waiter again. Major issue are their windows. We sat at a window table hoping for an ocean view, but no the windows are terribly dirty. We also wanted it open for some fresh air, but was told it gets too windy.

The meal was at its best ever, I never really do this but I called the manager to compliment the great work they are doing. In comparison to all other experiences in the OB franchise, this one has raised the bar tremendously. Food, Service, Efficiency, Hygiene, etc is all above 5 star, even for a busy Friday evening.Kudos to the whole team 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Ocean Basket Muizenberg is situated on the beach front amidst the hussle of beach goers and fun seekers. At first glance parking seems a no go but because of the movement of leisure seekers, rest assured you will be accommodated with parking.OB is situated on the beach road along with a myriad of other food outlets.Its situated on the first floor and therefore not easily accesible for moms & tots with prams or wheel chair friendly. Frankly there are no lifts to facilitate access. Only accessible by two flights of stairs🙄.OB does boosts a fantastic veiw of the beach🏊‍♂️ front and you can enjoy your favourite platted dish🍽 and coffee while observing swimmers🏊and surffers 🏄and the tranquility of in coming waves pounding the beach shore.

It was Wonderful staff very helpful and considerate…I was all by myself It was very cold had a seat at the door only table for 1 available… And being busy they had to open door often then moved me to another table out of the draft.Don’t have names but everyone was Great ☺️❤️🙏
