I have eaten here numerous times and the food is always incredible – Everything from the Italian, Lebanese and Japanese kitchens is amazing. The staff are very welcoming and attentive and the building itself has a powerful energy with a deeply rooted heritage. Very special indeed. I will keep returning as a loyal Local 🙂

I had a fantastic experience at Local. The historical building is beautiful with lots of original character and charm which really contributes to the atmosphere of the restaurant. The staff were all very friendly, welcoming and efficient. I ordered food from the Japanese and Italian kitchens which was excellent, it went perfectly with the wine that their in-house sommelier, Penny Noire, helped us choose. Over all an excellent experience and already looking forward to going back.

Beautiful space in a historical heritage building, expect exposed Dutch bricks with table mountain stone as the structure. 3 different eateries on the ground level are sure to fill your appetite with the like of Japanese yakitori, spicy ramen, cheese and chacuterie plates and an array of Italian tapas style dishes. to tie it all up in a wine bar with a selection of some interesting variety of wines both by glass and bottle, bonus if you love the wine that you have you can buy a bottle to take home to enjoy later.up the stairs you will find Mazza, a Lebanese inspired restaurant offering some delectable dishes. a truly beautiful inspiring space!

This is a very good restaurant. We had three of our four dinners in Cape Town there. Three different menus: Italian, Japanese and Lebanese, all of very high quality. Being Italian, we appreciate particularly the Italian plates, which mixed Italian tradition and local innovation in a very special (and tasty) way. The service is very good, warm and kind. Every evening there was live music, from Irish ballads to more African sounds, that created a perfect background. The location is also special, in a 18th century building very close to colourful Bo-Kaap in Cape Town. In the courtyard an iconic 18th century vineyard.
