A stunning setting and absolutely fabulous food at reasonable prices. This is top class cuisine and one of the best restaurants I’ve ever visited. Service and food stunning, great wines. Love it!
Attentive service, lovely food, excellent wine – an idyllic experience is on your doorstepPaarl seems like it might be a great trek. However we were pleasantly surprised to be rewarded with an idyllic escape after a 40 minute journey out of Cape Town. Service was superlative and the restaurant is a run attentively and unobtrusively. The menu was delightful with foraged items being used excellently, beautifully and tastily in a garden setting with a wonderful landscape to crown it all. Portions were generous and the wine is incredible.

Situated on a beautiful wine estate with fantastic mountain views. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, we were welcomed by every staff member. We did not have a reservation, however, they were willing to accommodate us even though they were expecting a big crowd. To our surprise, we received complimentary sour dough bread with a herb aioli and honey butter, as well as delicious pumpkin fritters and freshly squeezed plum juice. For the starter, we had the oven roasted celeriac, which was a perfect combination of sweet and savoury – the cheese flavour was just perfect. For mains we had the pan roasted Black Bream, which was cooked to perfection with tender grilled squid. Dessert was the aromatic poached guava – a wonderfully refreshing end to our fine dining lunch experience. I will recommend this place if you are looking for a fine dining restaurant.

Exceptional lunch experience at Faber Restaurant at Avondale on Sunday. We had slowly braised pork belly and asparagus for starters, with rack of lamb for mains. Everything prepared to perfection and service to match. The menu is well structured with a good range but not too long. They also offer a 6 course tasting menu. The setting is beautiful and we selected the outside setting in the lovely garden.
