Good vibe and friendly staff. Service was extremely slow but we were offered dessert “surprise” as an apology. The chacuterie board is just cured meats (you are made aware of this in advance). The pizza white was great, so was the pizza tomato. Expected the beef flat rib to be a bit more tender but it had good flavours nonetheless. A good experience.

The whole place is beautifully laid out and the staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Kagiso looked after us very well, the cocktail bartender was great fun and made excellent drinks – the house red wine was one of the best we ever tried. The food menu was eclectic and tasty but the portions were a bit small, so order accordingly.

The food was absolutely incredible. Great service, amazing wine selections. I highly recommend the Chefs Sharing menu, either for a date or with a group, to get the ultimate Elgr experience.Love the vibe and the staff, they were so friendly and insightful

I had 2 evenings (both without reservation) at elgr and liked the experience very much: both times staff was extremely friendly and helpful and did their best to find a place. Food was good (although the pizza was a bit to burnt and not quite my taste – brussels, really?!)Overall experience was great though!

We were a party of 4 we each enjoyed a starter , shared a pizza followed by mains and dessert. I think that was the perfect way to enjoy all Elgr has to offer. The pizza was honestly the best I’ve ever had and could easily have demolished more than my allotted 2 slices! I started with the most perfect Negroni followed by a beautiful glass of Thorne & Daughter rocking horse ! The only downside was the chocolate dessert which was a flourless olive oil cake I felt that it was dense and underwhelming compared to the spectacular desserts the rest of my table enjoyed and kindly let me partake in. Our waiter disappeared mid service so we ended up being assisted by a few other staff members resulting in 1 or 2 incorrect items on our bill which was dealt with in a friendly and efficient manner. I will rush back here. Truly a memorable meal👌🏻

We had a great experience last night with excellent service. The decor is beautiful. The food was absolutely delicious and well worth it. The cocktails are very unique, although pretty potent. I do wish there was a little bit more chardonnay selections. The coffee wasn’t good, but overall this is definitely a place we’d return to. Great value for money on the food. Loved it.
