Truly such an exquisite and unique gem to visit and experience in the Cape. The beauty of the restaurant is noted in the well-decorated and well-maintained interiors, reflecting that of the 18th century period in Venice.The establishment offers an array of seating areas fit for multiple occasions – including the well curated main dining area, smaller private rooms, intimate lounge area, external covered terrace and the lovely outdoor lawns overlooking the ocean. Visiting over the weekends are also pleasant, as you are welcomed by the pleasant sounds of a live pianist.The food ordered – for lunch – was average. It lacked flavour and the plating wasn’t as exciting as the interior design of the restaurant. I ordered the veg burger which was dry. Hence the 4 star. However, the desserts were lovely and well received. Service was pleasant overall.I would return, however for high tea or breakfast perhaps.

It’s been a fairly long time since I have returned. . When new owners just took over I was bitterly dissapointed with the high tea.I It was for a birthday. . I vowed never to return. Worst ever and was told etc. By new owners they would give us another for free when settled in. But never took our no and never heard from them again.This invite for lunch was not surprising . We had salads. Not impressed at all. Basic . Not a full feeling or look for a lunch. . Ice cream dessert were 2x small balls . REALLY?. I was not surprised the restaurant was rather empty. The background piano music was the most enjoyable of all. Sadly,I shall not return .

Fantastic food and fantastic service. Interesting place and easy parking. And the prices has stayed friendly for the locals. Italian place with wood burning pizza oven, but a broad Italian repertoire on the menu.

Location and setting are beautiful, as is the whole venue. A bit pricey and our waitron was not up to scratch. She was hard to find and we had to ask repeatedly for various items such as cutlery and condiments. Food was good – ecpecially the scones

We had that very table in the bay window for a most relaxed and enjoyable luncheon. Each plate of food was beautifully presented and delicious. Good service too. Many thanks.Vegetarian options: Yes there are some v options on the menuParking: Usually easy to get parking directly opposite on the main road.Wheelchair accessibility: Unfortunately not! Our 92yr old guest made her way up and down the large stone staircases, but with the help of a good strong hand rail.

This being my 4th experience since change in management- I took my niece (9) for lunch – I decided on a beef burger (I was told it was not available) both my niece and I decided on having the chicken burgers and I thought to order a kiddies Mac and cheese (Incase the food took a while to arrive as my niece did not have breakfast- I was told by the waiter that he is not allowed to serve it to me (although I ordered for my niece ) I asked why is there an age restriction for kids ? He said he doesn’t know all he knows is he is not allowed to . Annoyed but I didn’t want to make a big deal out of it because I wanted my niece to enjoy her time with me . I spent close to R500 for lunch for the both of us and just expected a better response since what was not on the menu wasn’t available. I definitely would not return .
