The food, the environment, the service damn it is amazing. My sister in law introduced this place to me, I am greatful. Did I say how cool this place is? Well the deep south is a gem but this place is something else.

I was there in the middle of winter, early evening so the place was empty. They have overhead gas heaters so we weren’t cold. We recieved great service but the star of the show was the pulled pork sandwich. It was excellent, best I’ve had in Cape Town. Perfect smoke flavour, and you can tell it’s been cooked low, slow and for a long time as it was the most tender bite of meat you’ll eat. The fries were great, fun for the kid and next time someone else must drive as the beer on tap would have washed everything down nicely.Kid-friendliness: There’s space to run around and a slide and swing set for the kids.

Enjoyed a birthday lunch here. We loved the quiet vibe with chilled music playing in a semi-outdoor setting. Perfect for a sunny Winters day. Great jungle gym for kids and food was hearty and delicious!

It’s so great to see the Cape Farmhouse back after all this time. Been sorely missed. Good food at reasonable prices. Nice to have some competition to the other venues in Scarborough which unfortunately have become a bit precious these days. [BTW I’d suggest removing the old reviews – some are from 6 years ago]One problem – what IMHO should just be background music, wasn’t. Way too loud to talk over. Worse, while his guitar playing was OK, the choice of songs was very monotonous and adding his falsetto voice really made it ‘music to commit suicide to’.

At the M65/M66 intersection, is a gate, follow the dirt road upto the farmhouse and discover a lovely setting, quiet, chirping birds, oak trees, fynbos and rolling views up to Tietkloof’s heights. The Farmhouse has some nice food, great meat to enjoy around one of their sleek crisp beers. Great staff, especially the “Rhodesian”. Nice place to stop over on a Sunday drive for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
