Beautiful views and great atmosphere. Service was decent. What we didn’t love was that we were seated indoors on metal patio chairs without cushions. For the price we paid for our meals they were very basic and uninspired. For example, the beef we were served was quite well cooked, but it was served with a very small amount of roast potatoes and a little bit of wilted salad greens. No other garnishes and no inspiration. The chicken breast my partner had was fine though a little bit dry and was served with even less sides than the beef meal. Overall the price we paid for food and drinks just did not reflect the quality of what was on offer. We also found it astounding that there was no vegetarian option at all besides one salad on the menu. In this day and age that seems uninformed at best.We do believe that this place can be very successful if they can improve on the food side of things.

Three of us enjoyed a very pleasant and tasty lunch here Saturday 21 May 2022. Eggs Benedict, brisket open sandwich, and omelette with lamb sausage. All very well prepared and well presented. I could have eaten a bowl of the baked beans all by itself. This is a beautiful location and worth hanging around to enjoy the marina, the views, and the fabulous gardens. Diana the resident gardener is a cheerful fountain of knowledge. Highly recommended.

Dropped in to check out the food and drinks. Was quite impressed with the excellent and prompt service. We went on Taco and Margarita day which is on Wednesdays. Tried the pulled chicken tacos which were so flavourful. Beer was great. Lots of choices. Very clean restaurant with a fantastic view right on the marina. Professional servers and they all wore black.

We came for the first time for the Burger and a Beer special. The view is fantastic, the interior is rustic charm and lovely… The Burger special was actually very good, with the sides well presented and flavorful. The beer selection was wonderful local brewery options, staff was friendly and professional… we are totally making it a new favorite. LOVED IT 🙂

One star for location, which they are not responsible for. Everything they have control over, they fail at. Surly and indifferent service. Dirty windows. Thrift store furniture. And the food? My wife is recovering from food poisoning because she picked the tuna burger last night. But of course they were out of tuna so they substituted salmon. Fair enough. They have about 8 options for their “Special Burger Night.” I would have liked to try the elk burger, but they were out. Also out of venison. And bison. So… I had the beef burger. Patty was OK, cheese, was modified milk product junk, woody ends of iceberg lettuce, bun was the consistency and taste of wonder bread. Roasted potatoes on the side (4 tiny slivers) were burnt and soggy (how is that even possible?). Side salad was a pile of large leaves with balsamic drizzle. And a side of baked beans – just what everyone needs with their burger. Saw the terrible reviews but I really like to give local businesses a chance. Decided to come in for the “special beer and burger” night. They stick a dedicated burger night menu in front of you that has a long list of burgers, all of similar price. What they don’t tell you until they present you with the bill is that only the beef burger qualifies for the beer and burger “special.” Anything else and you have to pay for the beer separately. Insulting, but not surprising as everything about this place indicates they just have no clue.

The restaurant is located in a beautiful location with a great view of the Ladysmith harbor. I’ve been there four times now since it reopened. The servers are great the food not so much. The first time was terrific and the food has been going downhill ever since. Last two times we’re to the point I will not return. The fish cakes were sold served cold and dry The chicken noodle soup was loaded with burnt chicken in it and was tasteless. The smoked brisket had an off sour taste to it couldn’t eat it. The roast potatoes were also cold and not that tasty. The toast is hard and dried out and salad croutons were burnt. The eggs are over cooked and the list goes on and on. Hope someday they increase your culinary skills and will be able to go back and enjoy the restaurant.

Really enjoyed the egg dishes. Clam chowder was too spicey for our taste – one was returned and refunded – which was decent! Maybe should mention to people since not expected. Seems that there are a few growing pains. Server was very attentive and pleasant. Beautiful location – harbour view – will love to return when weather is good since the outside seating looks very inviting.
