Not all heroes wear capes, but the Malays are real superheroes when it comes to their traditional cuisine. I decided to visit the colourful and pretty streets of Bo Kaap, and I would say to eat the food of the people here is a wonderful experience, or as the kids would say No Caap. Really friendly service, tasty food and gorgeous views. So you should curry here as fast as you can, pay the reasonable rices and get it in you. Highly recommend!

Finally experienced the food after lockdown. Tasty is a definite yes. One of Cape Town’s best curry houses.Vegetarian options: Beans, lentils and meat alternatives.Parking: Not sure when everyone one is home in the evening but during the day plenty of parkingWheelchair accessibility: Road to restaurant is easy.

Our first time here, menu offers Malay Dishes and Desserts, we were not disappointed. I absolutely loved the view from our table, the entire Table Mountain was visible. Really liked the cover of the menu, especially to pictures of Bo-kaap. Each table had a Covid screen and covid protocols were followed, also doors and windows were open as well

Firstly, this is a business that is family owned, Nazli and Boeta Yusuf is always on hand to welcome you with a warm smile. Secondly, you have an amazing view over the Bo-Kaap and the CBD, from a restaurant in the heart of this cultural hub. Thirdly, you have an amazing food spread being prepared, freshly prepared, FULL OF FLAVOR, traditional Malay Cuisine at its best. The pricing is on par with other restaurants, just more value / quality food, for your money from this restaurant. The restaurant had gone over and above most Cape Town restaurants, by having screens installed between tables, in an effort to prioritize safety for patrons where it comes to covid.I’ve taken many local and international guests to this establishment and they have never disappointed. I recommend this restaurant to everyone, and the warm reception by the owners, makes it feel like your visiting family opposed to eating at a restaurant.

Great view. Street parking is available. Pretty safe area. Open floor plan, glassed in, vaulted ceilings, and sliding doors to small decks. Food is good though not unique for Cape Town. We arrived at opening time. We two were seated immediately. The owners were omnipresent. The sons were the servers. The restaurant is literally on the roof of the family home. However, it took one hour and ten minutes to get served food. Nothing special just a single platter as listed on the menu for each of us. We also got charged for a dish we didn’t order or receive. When we got the charge removed the sons added a”service charge” to the bill of 12% (+/-). The restaurant must be a tourist attraction for them to force a gratuity amount. They don’t give any notice of the charge. I don’t know if the restaurant is always slow to serve but it’s best to assume that it’s the program.
