You could not ask for more flavour in their dishes! I had the Kingkilp and Queen Prawn combo. The fish was grilled to perfection in a lemon butter sauce and the prawns in a tangy tomato sauce that was absolutely stunning.The appearance of the food is very homey, nothing spectacular but the flavour makes up for it. Would highly recommend this establishment.

It was the best seafood platter I have had in a long time. The service was brilliant and friendly. The food was out of this world. You can bring your own alcohol with no corkage. It makes a night out so affordable and enjoyable. We will definitely be back with friends.

Lovely clean Portuguese restaurant. The calamari tubes are very good, especially with the peri peri sauce. Steak is good value for money. Restaurant is not licensed, so bring your own drinks. No corkage charged. Friendly staff. Lovely experience. Will be back

Always a pleasant, welcoming atmosphere. The owner and staff are friendly and caring about the comfort and satisfaction of Beira Mar patrons. The meals never disappoint added to that, no corkage charged! Generous portions plated or on platter. Grilled just right. Definitely and highly recommended.

Yummy food. Great 2 for 1 starter deal and bring your own booze. Great on the budget. Gizzards were fabulous in a creamy peri peri sauce and our rump steaks were delish. Def recommend

Food was great! Ordered the seafood platter for two; in the platter the fried hake and prawns were the best I’ve had in my two weeks in Kalk Bay. The restaurant is BYOB.The only downside of my experience was the waiter, we saw him maybe 2x the whole night. We had to ask other staff for things we needed b/c he was not present or pleasant. If I could rate on service alone, I would have given a 2. However, it seemed like other patrons weren’t having the same struggle.

It’s probably really a 4 star, but with such excellent service and Archie’s personal touch, it’s more like a six star experience. The food is fresh and delicious, everything that you would expect from a Portuguese restaurant, situated right over the road from the quaint Kalk bay fishing harbour.Archie has informed me that there are great lunchtime specials from Mondays to Thursdays every week.My suggestion is that everybody passing through Kalk bay should pop in for a meal, otherwise you’ll never know what you’re missing. Obrigado!
